What are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001?

Since the first publication in 1997, ISO 9001 has become the standard for quality management systems (QM System). ISO 9001 defines the basic requirements expected in a QM System throughout the world and covering every type of industry.

ISO 14001 does the same thing, but in the area of environmental management systems (EM Systems). It was first initiated in 1996.

Are there also some disadvantages and perhaps even some hazards?

There can be some disadvantages and hazards in the application of ISO 9001/14001 in the case of improper implementation and conversion. These problems are, as a rule, due to unnecessary formalization and bureaucracy with are not actually required by ISO 9001/14001.
